FROM BARBIZON TO MARRAKECH, FROM MARRAKECH TO...
Trees, the forest, wistarias, flowers, seasons, nature...
Some of MIGUEL AMOROS's favourite themes.
To write these few lines for this catalogue, the painter opens me
the door of his workshop. I uncover paintings now hung on the lines.
What a surprise! Alleys, gardens, markets, mosques. MIGUEL AMOROS
presents the MARRAKECH of his travels.
The painter opted for nature and from that fact, he respects the traditions of the village where he lived for over two decades.
The watercolours made on this subject express with strength a
magnificent nature, rich in colours. The water features from the
Majorelle's gardens with their flowered water lilies constitute an
endless source of inspiration. MIGUEL AMOROS knows, as he's walking,
how to choose the sites which when painted, will show their pictorial
qualities best. He owes this to his experience, his sensitivity and his
emotions in front of the always-renewed scene of nature.
The man stayed loyal to the technique of the open-air spirit from last
century's painters who he admires. As the walkers in the past; today,
children watch the artist drawing his sketches; the painter studies
their expression. MIGUEL AMOROS likes children and the students from
the Barbizon museum's painting workshop where he teaches often would
like to be given a set of water colours when they get home.
MIGUEL AMOROS's painting also pays tribute to simple and true things.
The dyer's market with its multicoloured alleys, the green grocer, women going to the market are all fascinating sights.
Whatever the subject, the palette is rich in colour, the drawing is accurate, the painters talent is asserted.
Invitation to dream and travel. MIGUEL AMOROS, visitors will wait for your next exhibition with impatience.
